gympie bone museum

The Gympie Bone Museum has found a temporary home at the Woodworks Museum.

A welcome addition, they will be staying until January 2021 and may extend if the location proves popular to visitors.

From the bare bones of an idea to a fledgling tourist attraction, the Gympie Bone Museum is Australia’s first and only museum dedicated entirely to the art and science of modern bones and skeletons.

The museum is a multi-purpose facility offering a bone and skull museum, research opportunities for postgraduate university students, skeleton and skull cleaning service for other museums and trophy hunters, art classes, specimen preparation, teacher professional development and a venue for touring museum collections, meetings, events and school excursions.
